                                                                    Peace, Be Still 

Plants need water. We need water. Should our plants be watered too much, they could die. If our rivers overflow, there will be a flood. And, when the flood runs over the crevices of the rocks; little can stop the flow of gravity into the villages. 

There is a flow of evil like that of a runaway flood. A turning point has been registered and marked. A page was turned. Though I am not a pessimist, those who have the slightest spiritual discernment can see the warning signs of a nation falling into the flood of evil. 

Solomon once wrote:

“I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him. Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before, and God will call the past to account. And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgement-wickedness was there, in the place of justice-wickedness was there. I thought in my heart, God will bring to judgement both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed.” Ecclesiastes 3:13-17

The word revere means fear. God is God and He wants His people to know there are consequences in what we do here on earth. He has given us laws of sowing and reaping.

When you see a nation begin to be corrected, you will see God’s hand calling men to get serious and return to to Him. History repeats itself.  No one gets away with anything. 

I remember as a young believer, I went to great lengths to bury the thoughts of my past. I have written my past sins down and buried them in the garden. I have pictured writing them on a blackboard, then; erasing them. I have even imagined turning the radio off! 

When we come to Christ, Our Father says, He takes all of our sins and throws them into the ocean and forgets them! 

There is a saying: "In the beginning of our Christian walk, we weep over our sin. Later on, when we begin to mature, we weep over our sins. “

We are still left with our memories, not to dwell upon, nor punish or torment us, but to keep us from repeating any past sin. When we learn and understand the consequences of our actions, then we live with “the fear of God.”  And, that is a real good thing! With prayer, this keeps our conscience clear.

Knowing Jesus Christ loves me and has forgiven me has given me peace. Sure, I get upset when I listen to the news. But, my strength comes from The Holy Spirit when I read, pray and study His Word.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38.39 kjv

Think about that. Nothing can separate us from the Love of Jesus Christ. Nothing!

You too can have this peace in Christ when you surrender your life to Him.

Let’s pray:

Heavenly Father,

I believe you loved us so much that you O Father sent your Son Jesus to be a pure sacrifice on the cross so I can have forgiveness of my sins. I do not understand it all, but I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. I know I have sinned and I need this Savior Jesus to take away my sins. [confess your sins]____.  I surrender completely and ask that you make me a new person in Christ. Though I cannot see Him, I believe in Him. I come in faith to receive your gift of grace. In Jesus name, amen.
