The Resolution

              The Resolution

“I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9
“And other sheep I have which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”John 10:16
“My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” John 10:29

Our journey is not easy, but the Battle is the Lords. In order for the Holy Spirit to begin to work in your life, the very first step is to believe that His Word (Bible) is the true word of God.
Just as there is a salve for every hurting wound, God’s word has the answer to today’s problems.  I give Biblical remedies and solutions.

Jesus said that heaven and earth will pass away but His words shall not pass away.

After you have agreed that the Bible is the true word of God, the second step is to accept that Jesus is the son of God and was sent to be a living sacrifice on the cross. His blood was shed so everyone who believes could have forgiveness of their sins. Without the shedding of His blood, there would be no remission of sins.

The Bible says that everyone has sinned and come short of the glory of God. The best person you can think of has sinned. No one can make it to glory on their own, or in their own way or own belief system; that is, If you believe in what the Bible says about it. We have all made wrong decisions and suffered the consequences in one way or another. All born-again believers walk through this same door that you are walking through today. No matter what nationality, gender, religious background, Jesus paid the price on the cross for you to be set free.

At this time, picture His outstretched arm offering the free gift of grace to you. Grace is undeserved favor or pardon. We are saved by this grace, through faith. We cannot work for it, because the debt is already paid. Look at it this way: Jesus took our place on the cross. Today, as you read this:  He asks that you would confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness through His Son Jesus. Before we go any further, please repeat this prayer in your heart:

Heavenly Father,

I believe that your Word is the Word of God. I believe that Jesus is His Son and died for me so that I will be saved from the second death the Word talks about in judgement. I know I have sinned against you and many others. (name your sins) and I ask that you would forgive those sins and take them away. Give me a new heart Lord. Give me a new life. I repent Father. Give me strength and I ask that Your Holy Spirit would teach me Your truth so I can grow in your knowledge. Help me connect with other born-again believers and lead me to the Church that is filled with your Word.  Thank You Father, in Jesus amen.

That was your second step. Congratulations! If you prayed that prayer with a humble repentent heart, you are now a member of the Kingdom of God, The Church, Believers, The Family or Body of Christ. There are many names and you will eventually learn them.

Your third step is to forgive others for their offenses toward you. Those who have betrayed you. We have all been betrayed and hurt. The Bible talks about how we must forgive everyone, because if we do not forgive others our Father in heaven will not forgive us. Sometimes it helps to write these people down on a piece of paper and go over each one, deliberately forgiving them.

There are people who get deliverance suddenly when they come into the family of Christ. All of a sudden, they don’t have the craving to smoke or do drugs anymore. They do not have the desire to run around anymore and as they pray and grow in the Bible they discover the craving for the old life eventually disappears. It is a little by little process. You really do become a new creature in Christ. The Holy Spirit begins to do a deep work inside of you and will talk personally to you in ways you will understand. That simple heart felt prayer that you prayed, caused your name to be written in the Lamb’s (Jesus) Book of Life. There is now a record of your humbleness when you prayed. God read your heart.

It is vital that you begin to prayerfully read your Bible. This is how you will fight your temptations and old worldly habits. We fight the Prince of the Power of the Air and the rest of the fallen spirits BY THE WORD OF GOD. The Bible talks about how the Word is a double edged sword. The Word is your weapon!

For example, knowing you are a child of the King now; should you feel fearful and confused over an incident, you can speak to that problem and say: For God hath not given “me”  the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7    And “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” 1John 4:18
Your perfect love is the one you accepted in your life “Jesus.”

This is how you fight the enemy, by the Word of God.
When Jesus was taken into the wilderness and tempted by satan, He quoted the Word. He said It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” Deuteronomy 8:3
Jesus taught us how to fight the enemy. Use the Word to fight your fears.

And, there is more; but that is for next time.
God Bless you all.

He Comes as an Angel of Light

The Prince of This World

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. NAV 1John 2:16

In the last article we talked about the enemy’s name and mostly how he accuses and lies. I will attempt to give examples of how he tempts in this article.

There will be some who read this, will realize that when you begin to renovate a house; one job invariably leads to another. For example when an old house needs new windows and the carpenter takes the windows out to be replaced there are times when they run across dry rot. Now, the workman has to take off other boards on the house to see how much dry rot has spread throughout the house. Dry rot would not hold new windows, but eventually fall to the ground. What once started out as a small job has lead to other things around the house, causing the owner to dig deep into his pockets.

The example of home renovation will be used to give an understanding how temptation works and where it can lead to in a life.

The above verse talks about ALL that is in the world, meaning the works of the world. Keep in mind the invisible forces that are in control of the world. The keys words are – invisible and control-. Jesus said, right before he was leaving to go back to His Father: “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” John 14:30.

Think about these three things:
1. Lust of the flesh
2. Lust of the eyes
3. Pride of life

All three come from the Prince of this world and his workers.
The enemy looks good to us when he comes to tempt us through lust. Lust for more power, more money, more sex, more food, more material possessions and more is never enough. Like the house that wanted those windows, dry rot was discovered. When lust is conceived, greed is birthed.

Lust is totally of the world. Lust beckons through one of the 5 gates in our fleshly body. Eye, ear, taste, touch and smell. For example: A simple thing like playing an old song can sometimes bring back memories.  What sort of memories? Good ones? No problem.  However, if the song stirred up a lust of yesterday, through our “ear gate.” We then, have a choice to turn it off or continue to bathe in the desire that the song was bringing. If we were to continue to listen to the song of yesterday that brings us such memories, would we be tempted to contact the one we are thinking about? If we are honest with ourselves we know, sometimes things happen as simple as that.
We can see someone and immediately be attracted to them and that is alright and can be quite exciting. It is only when we go further and begin to use our imagination of “what if” that it turns into lust. That comes in through our eye gate. We see – then, want or lust.

The Pride of life is when a person refuses to hear correction or accept help. They put up their shield of pride and reject humility and like the dry rot will eventually fall. Pride always comes before a fall.

Like the house that needed renovation, one job always leads to another. The house had been let go and not kept up.

I will use adultery as an example. When we succumb to the lusts of the world, it is there; we unknowingly invite other spirits into our life. This could be compared to ignorantly sending out invitations to unwanted guests.  The spirit of adultery brings into a marriage a lying spirit and a spirit of jealousy. Jealousy wounds and can kill and brings in anger. Anger brings in depression. Depression brings in despair and hopelessness and many times unforgiveness and death of the marriage. They work to wound.

When we cross over the line and give into a lust, we invite other spirits to come into our life! These spirits work together, each accomplishing their goal “to steal, kill and destroy” everything that you have. When their goal is accomplished, they hand you over to a stronger spirit. When the stronger spirit is done with you, you will fall.

Compared to the old house that was not cared for, the wood started to rot, the shingles started to peel on the roof and began to leak causing the floor to buckle,  mold grew, termites came and the house started to tilt and began to sink.

Think of your body as the house and what happens when we willingly say yes to a seducing spirit.
I have seen many marriages, no matter their ethnic group destroyed because of a spouse crossing over the line. They have lost their marriage, children, home, friends and job. They end up losing every single thing they have worked for all their lives, because of one fling or many flings. They believed the lie that they wouldn’t be found out, but the Bible says differently.
But if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against the LORD, and you may be sure that your sin will find you out. Numbers 32:23

Here is one more example. I will use the fictitious name of Mona. Mona was a middle aged single lady who worked at the office every day. She struggled during the recession because she had to pay the rent of 1400.0 per month, then there were the utilities, groceries, gas, car payment and other unexpected things that always came up. One day she discovered that if she could fix the books, she could skim some of the money for herself into her own account while working as an accountant. In this way she felt things would be easier for her. She told herself “I’ll only do it this one time.” She did and was a big success. No one found out. Then, a holiday came and she decided she wanted just a little bit more money to spend this year, so she did it again. Each time, she told herself it would be the last time. But it was so easy. Besides, she told herself “I am the one in charge of the books, no one ever questions what I do.” A couple of years went along this way and now Mona was very confident in fixing the books and skimming off what she wanted for herself. Then one day she went to work to find the office unexpectedly in audit. Long story short, her secret was discovered, she lost her job, and charges were filed for fraud and embezzlement.

Can you see how the tempter came and lied to her? The lying spirit said: “you won’t hurt anyone. You’ll never be found out. You need the money and they have more than they need, they would never miss it. You deserve this, you work hard.”

With everything in life there is a remedy. There is hope. With every pit that has been dug, there is a way of escape to overcome each obstacle in your life. There is a way to freedom, if you are ready to admit that your way has not been successful.

Stay tuned for the remedy.

The Accuser

The Accuser

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1Pe. 5:8 KJV

another version says:

“Curb every passion, and be on the alert. Your great accuser, the Devil, is going about like a roaring lion to see whom he can devour.” 1Pe. 5:8 Weymouth NT.

We are at war with invisible enmities. Though we cannot see those that accuse us, we experience the result of their accusations by the sorrow of a believing heart. Therefore, on one hand we turn in their direction and yet, when we turn in God’s direction can be a joyful deliverance.

Who he is…

The accuser has many names:

Abaddon, Accuser, Adversary, Angel of the bottomless pit, Apollyon, Belial, Beelzebub, Confuser, Devil, God of this Word, Murderer, Prince of Devils, Prince of the Power of the Air, Father of Lies, Ruler of Darkness, Serpent, Tempter, Unclean Spirit, Wicked, Thief, Idolater, Adulterer, author of all sin, Cheat, Satan, Lucifer, Prince of this World and the Bible continues to say he disguises himself as a angel of light. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, anti-christ, deceiver, devourer, enemy of righteous, tempter, Son of Perdition, son of the morning and spoiler.

While there are many more to name, I feel that those listed above are more than enough that describe his character.

In the beginning the Bible talks about how beautiful of an angel Lucifer was and that he was involved in The Music Ministry in heaven. Some believe he was the chief music minister. Power hungry, he became jealous of God’s authority and tried to take over the very one who created him. Because of his prideful betrayal he was kicked out of heaven, onto earth taking a third of God’s angels with him.

The character of the ruler of darkness will whisper lies to you. Eventually, for every truth that you learn from God he will counter with an untruth. He confuses. Though the Bible is the true word of God, it is satan and the fallen angels who will say it is false and try to bring doubt in your mind. He will try to replace your faith and love in a good God, with fear, doubt and unbelief and entice an alternative belief system towards another god.

The Christian God Jehovah is one who offers hope and encouragement, because you receive forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The Spirit of Darkness extends despair that leads to depression, then hopelessness. This is one reason why they are called lying spirits. He will create circumstances in your life to cause a wounded spirit at any age. Unless this is corrected through godly counseling a person will conform their life around the fearful lie they have been seduced to believe. The enemy has molded a mindset of thinking and acting like a victim ingrained in fear, when instead they could be set free.

Early on, he will present himself in the form of a lying fearful spirit:

Fear of “what if’s”
Fear of watchful eyes.
Fear of gossip.
Fear of rejection instead of acceptance.
Fear of exposure.
Fear of being judged by others.
Fear of disease, divorce or death.
Fear, fear, fear and lies and more lies!

When in my teens I had a girlfriend who was in bondage with a spirit of fear. She was a little over weight and quite fearful of what other people would think of her and say about her, so much so; that she would not get out of the car to go into the grocery store. Being 16 at the time, I knew she was fearful, but I did not realize the extent and harm this spirit was doing at the time. A spirit of fear will work with a lying spirit and whisper lies to produce the fear. “No one will like you, everyone will think you are fat (or too thin, or dumb etc)” He ACCUSES you!

Years marched on and I moved away and after marriages and many babies later. I went to visit my old friend. She appeared to be alright. A few years later I was called by her sisters to come and see her. She was bedridden and had struggled with different diseases, but had apparently given up on life and did not try to even get out of bed. Her husband no longer cared for her, the children were grown and she did not seem to have any reason to fight for her life. Her mind started to go. By this time I knew what had consumed her life. It was a spirit of fear, depression, lies and bondage. It was one of the saddest days of my life when I was again called to be by her side as she was dying in the hospital and unconscious. “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6

After talking to one of her sisters I discovered, her spirits came in through molestation in her childhood and took over the rest of her life. Back then, no one talked of such things and usually the child worked it out for themselves the best they could.  Could she have been prevented from going through such suffering? I do not have the answer.

What I do know, is that the enemy can use someone to discourage another to the point of hopelessness. Many people do not know how to pull themselves back up, when that happens.

Wherever there is a crack in the window pane of your life, there they will find your weakness. Know where you are weak! If truth is presented into your life, be prepared; in return the enemy will twist and pervert what you have just learned to justify your sin. Then, there will be a decision, who will you believe?

The enemy takes their prisoner just as far as they are allowed to go with their goal being total destruction. From the very first whisper of flattery or selfish indulgence he lends; conveys a long path towards his selfish ambition. And, he has the patience and expertise to follow it through.

Many years ago shortly after I was born again, I was studying about spiritual warfare and every time I would study about a particular spirit, I would see the outcome in the physical realm. I remember seeing the results of the spirit of heaviness (extreme depression in the belief of total hopelessness, a lie) all around me. Two houses down from mine a young man’s sister came home from work and found he’d hung himself. A street over, a man blew himself up with a shotgun and then, nearby a girlfriend’s husband also shot himself to death.

The end result is death when we believe in a lie.

We all have our weaknesses. What is yours?

The whole seducing period that the enemy courts is subtle and light and can bring gaiety into an otherwise dull life. All of a sudden a feeling of importance is felt and attention. Little by little as the relationship develops a stronghold takes root in your life as you continue to choose to believe a lie. He will charm your vulnerability and your loneliness to sway you into doing his will instead of God’s will.

A weakness towards material possessions is an easy mark for the enemy. All he has to do is keep you playing those x-box games, nose buried in the smart phones, buying more shoes or purses, a burial ground of debt, getting a bigger car or better house; in that way your concentration is on the idol of things, instead of God. He has you right where he wants you.

The weakness of an unhappy marriage brings a roving eye and the enemy will have the right person in the right place at the right time. The enemy makes up excuses in your mind and says, “his wife doesn’t love him like I do, or she doesn’t understand or deserve him.” There use to be a country and western song that went: “how can it be wrong, when it feels so right?” But we all know better.

Do our emotions get the best of us as we drink the rest of that wine and eat that whole bag of chips? A famous movie star once said “a slip on the lips will be forever on the hips.” There is always a payday for the things we do and that is one paycheck we do not look forward to receiving.

The enemy will manipulate people using those that are unaware of his devices. Even “Christians” are used to turn people off of Christianity through different methods and styles of preaching or sometimes in the world of business. I’ve heard some call it “sloppy agape.” Agape meaning love.

The truth is, when our military is on the battle field they do not take chances; they know their enemy. They know how he thinks and can pretty much see which way he is going to maneuver to try to bring as many soldiers down as possible. If the enemy can at least maim a warrior, he will not be as effective in battle.  Again, the enemy knows our weaknesses. We should know their weaknesses and how to fight them. There is a way and that will be in my next article.

The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares

The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares

24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”Mt. 13:24:30 NKJV

Picture a beautiful golden field of wheat.  The weeds or counterfeits are growing right next to them and can be hard to spot unless you are walking amidst the grain. They all look like a field of rich gold, literally shimmering in the sunshine. Together they swing the same way in the wind; as they both drink in the water and sunshine. The wheat faithfully produces more seed to plant the next year, but so does his counter crop.

If you know anything about gardening, with everything you plant there is a copycat plant that comes up right next to the one you planted. Unless you look closely at the two plants you might not recognize the original plant. The copycat’s intent is to steal nutrients from the ones you have planted.  Isn’t it interesting, if we take note; that everything we have on this earth there is a twin that looks like the real thing.

2 Corinthians 4:4

By blinding the minds of men to the true gospel of God, Satan has set himself up as a COUNTERFIET of the Creator God. As the prince of the power of the air, he broadcasts his evil, rebellious attitudes to all humanity, and except for a few whom God has called out of his deceptions, the whole world lives under his sway (Ephesians 2:1-3; I John 5:19; Revelation 12:9).

The Bible talks about how the things on this earth are either of God or against Him. What did Jesus say? "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Mt. 12:30 niv

Over and over, we see; there is the original item, then; the fake.  When you start to think about it, there will be many such examples a person can give, this is why we get our inventions and ideas patented or copy written.  Though they cannot copy the item exactly like it was made, because of this protection there will be a slight difference in the product; hence another copycat or counterfeit.

There is grass compared to weeds that look like grass and artificial turf.
There is pure raw honey, stevia, molassess or cane sugar to artificial sweeters.
There are herbs to synthetics drugs.
There are natural pesticides such as diatomaceous earth (and others) to poisonous insecticides.
There are hybrid plants to non-hybrids and heirloom plants.

There are those who say they are Prophets and Teachers, yet preach heresy. Their words do not line up with what God says in His Word.
Truth vs lies.

There are those who boast about their good works, yet their character does not line up with God’s goodness.
Truth vs lies.

And then, those that say they are humble; but their behavior proves otherwise.
Again, truth vs lies.

There are people who say they are friends, but not. The real and not  real.
It can be compared to a homemade pond that must be air-rated to a natural spring fed pond. Good friend to - not a friend. The secret is to know the difference.

A seducing spirit will woo a person with false doctrines that will give just enough knowledge or acceptance they are seeking, to become entrapped  into their belief system.

I could go on.

Listen. With everything in your life there will always be another side or another choice or path for you to take. Look for the other side of the coin. Go out of your way and seek the truth. Take your time and ask God what goes along with that car or house I am planning on buying? What about that gent you are seeing? Is he really the original or are you settling for a counterfeit?

There is always the other side to something.

We can be completely overwhelmed and seduced into liking something that will do more harm for us, than good. Then, we are deceived. We can be traveling down a smooth road toward our destination; happy as a lark only to have gone down a dead end road.

Remember the cult of Jonestown? The people were seduced into believing a lie and followed Jim Jones across the world, to their death.

It has been said that those who followed the cunning of Charles Manson were looking for love and acceptance. Knowing this, he gave them full acceptance, for a price. They even killed for him.

There is a way that seems right….according to the Bible “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” Pr. 16:25

What does a doctrine of a God of love give to you?  Our God is compassionate and merciful, one who forgives. He gives the gift of grace (undeserved pardon) to you.

What does a doctrine of a God who hates or demands forcible killings give? How does that God extend hope when promoting fear or anger instead of forgiveness? Death instead of life? Where is the love? Do they see killing as an act of love?

Lastly, what does a doctrine of “work my way to heaven” give you? There isn’t anything we can do in the way of works, to earn our way to heaven. Jesus is our righteousness. We can never be good enough or do enough to earn eternal life. Jesus paid the whole price. But after you are born-again, you live in His love and faith and you strive to do good works because of the love and forgiveness He has given to you.
